Daily Prayer for Peace
The Daily Prayer for Peace worship service is held at 1:00 p.m. central time, 365 days a year at Community of Christ Temple, Independence, Missouri. Each day a prayer
is offered for a specific country based on the World Council of Churches’ ecumenical prayer cycle, which joins our prayers with that of even more Christians
throughout the world.
Most Community of Christ congregations incorporate the Prayer for Peace in their weekly worship. Many members of the Community of Christ pause wherever they are at
1:00pm central time to join in the daily prayer.

International Peace Award
The Community of Christ International Peace Award has been given since 1993. The award includes a $20,000 grant to be donated to the charitable peace, justice, or
environmental organization of the recipient’s choice. Honorees also receive a sculpture created by Wyoming artist Gail Sundell. Each is made slightly different to honor the
unique peacemaking contribution of the recipient.

World Church Peace and Justice Team
The World Church Peace and Justice Team originally was established by World Conference action in 1982 and was more clearly defined in 2000 to explore issues of
peace and justice. As a team that represents lay members and ministers in addressing peace and justice questions of the world church body, the team is uniquely able to
pursue issues that cross jurisdictional boundaries and that are of importance to the worldwide church.

World Church Earth Stewardship Team
The Earth Stewardship Team was established as a standing committee by World Conference action in 1992 to focus on issues of environment and development and to
give guidance to the church.
